A LUTON man has been found guilty for his role in the sustained attack on a man at a neighbours bed sit which left him with horrific scars.

Barry Medlock, 64, of Crawley Green Road was found guilty of Grievous Bodily Harm after a trial at Luton Crown Court following the incident which happened in Crawley Green Roan on October 7 last year.

During the trial the jury had heard that the victim, who is in his 60s, was attacked with boiling water, caustic soda, an iron and a broom handle during his ordeal.

Speaking after the verdict, the officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Constable Jonathan Wheeler, said: “This was a horrific crime which has left the victim with not only physical but emotional scars and he is lucky to be alive. I am satisfied that the jury has come to the right decision and I hope that this send out a clear message to those who take part in violent offences. Bedfordshire Police will continue to crackdown on violent offenders and bring them to justice.”

Jackie Kerr, aged 38, of no fixed abode, and Jennifer Collins, 36, of Crawley Green Road had previously pleaded guilty to their part in the assault which left the victim with horrific scars.

All three have been remanded in custody and will reappear before Luton Crown Court for sentencing within three weeks.
