DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a 51-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery on Saturday October 15.

The victim was treated for stab wounds to his lower back and a cut to his right forearm following the incident which took place in an alleyway in Pastures Way between 10.45pm and 11.20pm

As the victim was close to the Southfield Junior School he was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife and made demands for money. The victim backed away but another person struck him over the head rendering him unconscious.

The offender with the knife is described as a short white man, around 20 years old, with a round shaped face and wearing a sky blue hooded top.

The second offender is described as a white man, also around 20 years old and wearing a grey hooded top.

It is believed the victim had seen the offenders shortly before talking with two other people who are described as a black man and a white woman both around 20 years old.

Det Con Barry Kerr said: “Although the injuries the victim sustained are not life threatening this robbery was a shock. The offenders got away with cash and the victim’s sports bag that contained personal items which were recovered close to the school.”

If you have information relating to this incident, contact DC Kerr, in confidence, on 01582 473134, text information to 07786 200011 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
