REPORTS in the north have claimed Luton Town striker Jason Walker has signed for Blue Square Bet Premier rivals York City, writes Mark Wood.
The 27-year-old striker is said to have signed a two-year deal for the Bootham Crescent club for an undisclosed fee.
York manager Gary Mills had been chasing the diminutive striker for some time, having originally tried to sign him from Barrow last October.
He hit 11 goals in 18 games for the Bluebirds at the start of the season before signing on loan for Luton in November and permanently in the January transfer window.
Walker established himself in Town’s first team at the tail-end of last season, but missed a spot-kick in Luton’s 4-3 penalty shoot-out play-off final defeat to AFC Wimbledon at Eastlands last month.
He scored six times in 29 appearances for the Hatters and joins Liam Henderson, Ashley Chambers, Matty Blair and Paul Mussselwhite who have all signed for the Minstermen this summer.
