UPDATE: Murdered teenager was not at a house party

A TEENAGE GIRL who was murdered at a house in Ailsbury Road, Ampthill on Saturday (June 9) was a student at Harlington Upper School, police confirmed today.

Megan-Leigh Peat, 15, died after being stabbed at around 1.30am after going to the property with an 18-year-old male.

The male was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of murder, but due to an injury he had sustained he was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

He remains in hospital under police guard and has not yet been interviewed in connection with the incident.

Students at Harlington Upper School are currently being supported by staff and flowers and messages of condolence are being left outside the property in Ailsbury Road.

There had not been a party at the house, contrary to earlier news reports, and Megan-Leigh had spent the evening with the male at various pubs in Flitwick and Ampthill before going to the house which belonged to a mmutual friend.

Megan-Leigh lived with her mother, brother and mother’s partner in Flitwick Road, Westoning.

Her father and his partner live in Flitwick.

Both parents are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers from the Beds, Herts and Cambs Major Crime Unit (BHCMCU).
