LUTON Town have made their first signing of the summer by snapping up Rushden & Diamonds captain and striker Aaron O’Connor on a free transfer, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 27-year-old, who scored 14 goals in 37 appearances last season, has signed a two-year deal at Kenilworth Road after his contract at Nene Park expired.
O’Connor started his career at Derby County before spells with Ilkeston Town, Scunthorpe United, Nuneaton Borough, Gresley Rovers, Grays Athletic and Mansfield, before he joined Rushden.
The forward, who can also play wide, was a popular signing at Diamonds, winning a host of awards at the end of last season, including Supporters Player of the Year.
