A BURY PARK businessman has been named as a finalist in this year’s Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Bedfordshire Business Awards 2012.
Mohammed Nadeem, who runs Nadeem Property Services, was nominated for the Business Person of the Year award and the Real Life Entrepreneur categories, and found out this week that he has made it to the finals.
The awards, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, take place at the Mansion House in Old Warden Park near Biggleswade on June 13.
Mr Nadeem, who is chairman of the Luton Bury Park Business Community group and was last year named Entrepreneur of the Year at our Rising Stars awards, said: “I think I’ve got a good chance. A lot of people say they’re an entrepreneur but I actually am.
“Despite businesses suffering in the current climate we’re out there starting new things all the time.
“The recession affected us a lot, it’s been difficult to get finance, but it’s good that we can still show our entrepreneurship skills and start new projects. It helps the local community.
“It would be a great achievement to win because I’m representing Luton and putting the town on the map for the right reason.”
