TWO children’s centres in Luton are celebrating fantastic Ofsted results.

Both Marsh Farm Children’s Centre and Chaul End Children’s Centre were praised by inspectors in the recent reports, and staff at Chaul End hosted a garden party on Friday for families, staff and partner organisations to mark their success.

The Chaul End centre was given a ‘good’ rating by inspectors, who described the centre as having a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment.

Centre manager Shagufta Anwar was praised for being ambitious and having a vision for the nursery which she is successfully driving forward.

Shagufta said: “It’s fantastic to see our hard efforts, commitment and enthusiasm have been recognised by Ofsted. We have brilliant parents who are always willing to try new things and a fantastic group of children who certainly keep us on our toes.”

Marsh Farm Children’s Centre was rated ‘outstanding’ by inspectors, the top ranking from Ofsted.

Staff were praised for the impact they are having on the heath of adults and children in its area, with activities that focus on healthy eating and nutrition which are helping to dramatically reduce child obesity in the area.

Children attending the centre enjoy learning and are making excellent progress including those with a disability and with special educational needs and children who speak English as an additional language.

Centre manager Denise Poore said: “I’m proud that the services we are delivering are having such a positive impact on children and families in this area and beyond. Safeguarding children is our number one priority and I’m really pleased that Ofsted recognised this to be outstanding.”
