SAINSBURY’S staff in Luton went bananas to promote awareness of Fairtrade Fortnight.
The workers at the Bury Park branch took part in “Taking A Step” – a national campaign to encourage people to support Fairtrade goods – by holding an information morning.
A “step” can be as simple as trying a new Fairtrade product or as big and bold as launching a campaign to get friends, family and work colleagues to start buying more Fairtrade items.
Steps can be registered by going to www.fairtrade.org.uk/step. The Fairtrade Foundation hope to achieve 1.5m steps by the end of 2012 – one for every Fairtrade farmer and worker around the world.
