HATTERS managing director Gary Sweet has called for patience from Town’s fans despite the club’s disappointing start to the season, writes Mike Simmonds.

At the midway point, Luton find themselves in seventh position, not even in the play-offs, and 11 points adrift of top spot.

Manager Gary Brabin has come under increasing pressure from supporters during recent games at Kenilworth Road, but Sweet hopes they will have patience with the Town boss.

He said: “I don’t tell supporters how to support, it’s not my job to do that and I wouldn’t be so contemptuous. I have been one myself for my entire life and I accept the concept that supporters pay their money and have their say. I don’t disagree with that.

“But it’s not just me, the entire board are supporters too and we feel the same frustrations and we completely empathise with their emotions at this time.”
