POLICE would like to speak to a man who spat at a bus driver in Luton in a racially motivated attack..
The incident happened at around 12.25pm on November 7 as the number 38 bus travelling towards Luton pulled up at a stop outside the Luton & Dunstable Hospital.
The offender boarded the vehicle and said that he had lost his wallet but needed to be taken into town. When the bus driver explained that he would need a ticket to travel, the offender spat at the driver and made a racial slur. The offender then got off the bus and started kicking the doors as it drove away, but caused no damage.
The attacker is described as black, in his late 20s, of average build and was wearing an Adidas hooded top and a dark coloured baseball cap.
PC Lucy Arnold, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was an unprovoked and nasty attack on a man who was going about his daily work. The victim was left very shaken and obviously upset by what happened and I hope that anyone who recognises the attacker will come forward with information so we can stop any further attacks from happening.”
