A COUPLE in Austria were amazed to find a balloon from Woodside Animal Farm in their small village.
Tamara Temmel and Robert Müller discovered one of the balloons that Woodside give away at children’s parties in their village of Wettmannstätten in Styria, which is part of Austria.
They emailed Woodside and said: “We were fascinated by finding a balloon from the Woodside Farm near Luton in our small village. The balloon had to fly a long way to Austria and we wish you nice greeting from here!”
Wettmannstätten is about 930 miles from Luton, and a Woodside Farm spokeswoman confirmed it is the furthest they have known one of their balloons to travel.
There were more children than normal at Woodside Farm yesterday as they enjoyed a day out while their teachers went on strike.
Midweek term time prices for the farm are £3 for adults and £2 for children.
This weekend, Father Christmas will be visiting the farm from 11am to 4pm, where children can enjoy free face painting, sweets and lollipops and join in the Elf Hunt. Call 01582 841044 for more information.
