HATTERS hero Mick Harford and Arsenal legend Ian Wright are throwing their weight behind this year’s Karen Trust charity fun run, which takes place later this month.

The Karen Trust was set up in 2009 in memory of Karen Singh who died from a brain tumour. The charity supports families that are dealing with terminal cancer and has worked with both the Luton & Dunstable Hospital’s cancer unit and Keech Hospice Care.

Now in its third year, the charity event returns to Wardown Park on November 27.

Karen’s brother, Joe, said: “Like so many other people, Karen was taken from us far too soon and the charity gives us the opportunity to keep her memory alive by supporting families that are dealing with terminal cancer.

“Our mission is to raise money to build a retreat for cancer sufferers to enjoy a holiday with their loved ones and spend some quality time together, and hopefully create some important precious memories.”

The race starts at 10.30am and entry costs £10 for adults with under 16s free.
