A SPARKLING array of the town’s most talented performers took to the stage for Luton’s Got Talent on Saturday.

The second show organised by the Herald & Post saw fifteen finalists entertain the audience and compete for the £250 prize.

The audience voted 16-year-old singer Mary Cantew as their winner, who also received an engraved trophy and a certificate.

Mary said: “This is only my 2nd competition and I thought it would be a good opportunity to perform. I am speechless. I would like to thank my friends, family, the judges and Rebecca McCreath who organised it all.”

Sponsored by Luton Airport, the judging panel was made up of Kelly Williams from the Hemel Gazette and Express, Dipika Sodha from the Herald & Post and Sian Pearce, community relations executive at Luton Airport.

Compere for the evening was Vikki Dodd from the Herald & Post field sales team.

Kelly, who also judged last year’s show, said: “There’s so much talent in Luton itself, it just proves it tonight that there’s so much more out there and what an amazing winner. absolutely fantastic, phenomenal at 16 years old really enjoyed tonight can’t wait to do it again next year.”

The audience also enjoyed a special guest performance from David Sorrentino, the winner of last year’s Bedford’s Got Talent competition.
