A YOUNG tennis player gave Jamie Theakston a lesson at the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) National Talent ID finals last week.

Shanice Marshall, 11, from Luton, was one of 30 youngsters invited to the event at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

She showed off her skills in front of the LTA Talent ID team and gave Jamie, who took up tennis in June, a few tennis tips.

Arnold Academy pupil Shanice said: “It’s been a lot of fun. I think if Jamie works hard at his game, he can be good at tennis as well.”

Radio star Jamie took up tennis as part of the allplay challenge, with Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis and TV presenters Tim Lovejoy and Lorraine Kelly, who will be playing a final match at the AEGON Masters Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall in December.

Jamie said: “Today’s been great. I’ve been really impressed with the talent out in force here today. I’ve got some great tips from the players on how to improve my own game.”

To book tickets to see the allplayers final match in December call the box office on 020 7070 4404 or visit www.AEGONMastersTennis.com
